Fun Day June 2008

On Sunday 22nd June we held our first ever taekwon-do fun day in Little Island sports hall. It was a fantastic day and we had 50 students take part. After a quick warm up the students were split into 4 groups and sent to the 4 different zones. Zone 1 was sparring. Every one got to spar in a non-competitive, friendly manner but held in a tournament stlye. This gave some experience to beginners and even the Little Dragons. Rin two was weapons sparring. Rubber and foam swords, staffs and nunchucks where there to be chosen and students battled against each other in a fun weapon war. Next up we had the sumo wrestling ring. We had hired the big comfy suits for the day and students got to battle each other as if they were massive sumo wrestlers. Finally we had the bouncing castle where people could relax and just have fun after all their warrior ways. At the end we even had a jump kick and pattern competition inside the bouncing castle!

The day was a huge success and great fun. Every one had a brilliant time and are already asking when the next one will be held.
